Foundation 92’s Emerging Talent Centre (ETC) welcomed special guests last Friday as Salford City FC players Ben Woodburn and Josh Austerfield joined the young athletes for an engaging and inspiring session.
The duo took part in a lively Q&A, giving ETC players a unique insight into the life of a professional footballer. From pre-match routines to handling pressure on the pitch, Woodburn and Austerfield shared valuable experiences and advice with the aspiring players.
Following the discussion, the pair watched the team in action during training and even joined in on a few drills, much to the delight of the young participants. Their encouragement and enthusiasm helped make the session both educational and memorable for everyone involved.
Foundation 92’s Emerging Talent Centre is free to join for girls looking to develop their football skills delivered by UEFA & FA Qualified Coaches. The sides are selected after a trial period each summer to provide a route onto the England Talent Pathway.
Ricardo Silva, Community Programmes Manager at Foundation 92 said:
“It was fantastic to have Ben and Josh join our ETC session. Opportunities like this give our players the chance to learn directly from professionals and see what it takes to reach the next level. Experiences like these are invaluable for their development, both on and off the pitch.”
