Salford City FC defender Ade Oluwo has been named Foundation 92’s PFA Community Champion for the 2025/26 season.
Oluwo has shown outstanding commitment to community engagement throughout the year, playing an active role across a wide range of Foundation 92 initiatives. His dedication to supporting local programmes and connecting with participants has made a meaningful impact across Salford.
Throughout the season, Oluwo has embraced opportunities to get involved beyond the pitch, visiting schools, attending holiday camps, supporting the December to Remember present drop, and engaging with participants from diverse backgrounds. His positive attitude and willingness to give his time have made him a strong role model for young people and the wider community.
Foundation 92 continues to deliver programmes focused on improving lives through education, community engagement and health & wellbeing, with a strong emphasis on both physical and mental health. Oluwo has been a passionate advocate for these initiatives, helping to inspire participants and promote the importance of staying active and connected.
Speaking after receiving the award, Oluwo said:
“I am really proud to receive this award. People may tend to see us as superheroes or put us on a pedestal. I think, by getting involved in the community, they get to see us more on a human level, and we can have that bond.
You see the impact that you’re having, and it does encourage you to want to do more. At the end of the day, you’re helping to make people’s lives better, no matter how small or big the gesture is. I think it’s really important we carry on, and not just me, but as many people as possible in the team”.
Maheta Molango, PFA CEO said:
“We know from our work with players that they feel passionately about using their influence in positive ways to drive change in their communities. Our PFA Community Champions have shown incredible dedication to community engagement projects over the season and it’s right that they are celebrated for the impact they’ve had. On behalf of everyone at the PFA, I extend our warmest congratulations to this season’s winners.”
The PFA Community Champion award recognises players who go above and beyond in their support of community initiatives, highlighting the important role footballers play off the pitch as well as on it.
Foundation 92 would like to thank Ade for his continued support throughout the season, along with all Salford City FC players who have contributed to community programmes during 2025/26.
