Foundation 92 today proudly launched the first week of its brand new KeepHERS programme, delivered in partnership with England goalkeeper Mary Earps, creating exciting opportunities for young girls to develop their confidence and skills in goalkeeping.
The programme officially got underway today, with around 250 girls expected to take part across eight specialist goalkeeping sessions running throughout the week at Albert Park, Salford.
To mark the launch, Safia Middleton-Patel from Manchester United Women attended the opening sessions, spending time with participants and answering questions from aspiring young goalkeepers. Her visit gave the girls a unique opportunity to hear first-hand about life as a professional footballer, the importance of resilience, and the growing opportunities within the women’s game.
The KeepHERS programme has been designed to inspire and empower the next generation of female goalkeepers by providing access to high-quality coaching, role models and a supportive environment where girls can grow both on and off the pitch.
Foundation 92 continues to champion opportunities for young people across Salford and beyond, with the launch of KeepHERS representing another important step in supporting girls’ participation in football and creating pathways within the game.
Today highlighted the importance of creating inclusive spaces where young girls can feel confident to try goalkeeping, develop new skills and build lasting friendships through sport.
With strong demand already shown for the first round of sessions, the programme promises to be an exciting addition to Foundation 92’s growing community offer in partnership with Mary Earps, helping more girls discover a passion for football and goalkeeping.
