Salford Celebrates the Re-Launch of Swim Bike Run Local – A Monthly Triathlon-Inspired Family Fitness Event

Salford Community Leisure, in partnership with Foundation 92 and British Triathlon, is proud to announce the re-launch of Swim Bike Run Local, a unique, beginner-friendly, triathlon-style event designed for individuals and families of all fitness levels. The programme kicks off on Sunday, August 10th, and will take place every second Sunday of the month from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, with timings adjusted depending on age brackets.

This accessible and inclusive event offers a fresh take on traditional triathlons, encouraging community participation in an enjoyable and supportive environment. Participants will rotate through swim and bike activities at Broughton Leisure Centre, followed by a run at Albert Park, Salford.

The sessions are designed as introductory taster events, giving participants the chance to explore the three key triathlon disciplines without pressure. Start times and distances vary by age group, making it suitable for children, teens, and adults alike.

Kenny Flint, Health & Wellbeing Manager at Foundation 92 said: “Swim Bike Run has been uniquely developed to ensure there’s something for everyone, whether you’re a first timer, returning to exercise, or attending as a family, it’s a great opportunity to experience the excitement of a triathlon in a relaxed, welcoming setting.”
