There is Still Time To Join Foundation 92’s 6-Mile Walk: Stroll For Salford

Salford City Football Club fans and the Greater Manchester community are being encouraged to lace up their walking shoes for Stroll for Salford—a six-mile sponsored walk raising funds for Foundation 92.

The event, supported by official sponsor Camptech, takes place on Saturday, October 4th, starting at 10am from Hotel Football, Old Trafford. Walkers will journey through Manchester city centre, stop at the National Football Museum, and finish at the Peninsula Stadium, home of Salford City FC.

Participants are expected to complete the route in around two and a half hours, with the finish timed ahead of Salford City’s home clash against Grimsby Town. Every registered walker will receive a special event T-shirt, a completion medal, and a complimentary match ticket for the game.

Registration is free, with walkers asked to pledge to raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship for Foundation 92, which supports community sport participation across Greater Manchester.

The event is open to all, with under-16s required to be accompanied by an adult. Organisers advise a minimum age of 10 years old for children, though the decision is left to parents.

In addition, Camptech is offering all participants a 10% discount on its range of outdoor equipment.

Camptech Director, Akash Parmar said:

“Community is at the heart of everything we do at Camptech. We’re proud to stand alongside Foundation 92 and Salford City FC in supporting ‘Stroll for Salford’ — an inspiring event that brings people together to promote wellbeing, inclusion, and equal opportunities through sport. By walking side by side, we’re not just covering miles — we’re helping build a stronger, more connected Greater Manchester.”

Dale Mulgrew, Fundraising Manager Said:

“Our first ‘Stroll for Salford’ is a fabulous moment for Foundation 92 as we look to grow our fundraising in ways that involve our wonderful community, especially our committed Salford City supporter base.’

‘The event will be a fantastic way to help Foundation 92 continue to deliver community sport. It will be a fun and inclusive walk that takes in many different views and points of interest along the Manchester cityscape. The route to be followed will also have a great finish, as each walker will be given the chance to end the walk by watching Salford City take on Grimsby Town”

Individuals and teams able to register online via the Stroll for Salford Registration Form until 12am on Friday the 3rd October.

If you cannot make the walk, you can still support the event through either sponsoring an individual participant, or donating to the walk campaign page:
