Foundation 92 is proud to announce the launch of the Salford City FC Matchday Mile, an exciting new initiative designed to bring supporters together, promote wellbeing, and kick off matchdays in a positive and active way.
Starting on Saturday 7th March, fans are invited to take part in a free, pre-match one-mile community walk around the Peninsula Stadium ahead of every Saturday home fixture.
The Matchday Mile will meet 1 hour and 45 minutes before kick-off at the Moor Lane stadium entrance (by the club shop), giving supporters plenty of time to complete the relaxed 20-minute loop before heading inside to cheer on the Ammies.
The initiative, delivered by Foundation 92, aims to encourage fans of all abilities to come together, get active, and connect with fellow supporters in a welcoming and inclusive environment. The one-mile route is accessible, sociable, and open to all adult supporters – with no cost to take part.
The Matchday Mile is about more than just physical activity. It provides an opportunity to:
- Boost mental and physical wellbeing
- Meet new people and strengthen community connections
- Build matchday atmosphere from the moment you arrive
- Support one another while supporting the team
Foundation 92 believes in the power of sport and community to inspire positive change, and this new initiative is another step towards creating inclusive spaces where fans feel connected and supported.
Kenny Flint, Health & Wellbeing Manager at Foundation 92 said:
“We’re delighted to be launching the Matchday Mile in partnership with Salford City FC. Matchdays are about community, pride, and shared experiences. This initiative is a simple but powerful way to bring supporters together, promote wellbeing, and start the day the right way, walking, talking and supporting side by side.”
No booking is required, simply turn up and join the group.
