The new programme will be based at Stretford Public Hall, launching on the 12th of July, 4pm until 6pm. The programme will run every Tuesday for eight weeks, and is aimed at females aged 13 to 25 that may be experiencing hard times, struggling with their Mental Health, or struggling to adapt after the Covid pandemic.

The programme will be funded by StreetGames in partnership with Yoginis to help improve the Mental Wellbeing of young women in the local community and help them to become more attune to their bodies and emotions, building confidence and self-esteem.

Yoga facilitates characteristics of friendliness, compassion, and self-control, improving wellbeing by cultivating calmness. Sustained practice generates important outcomes on life perspective, self-awareness and improved energy to live life fully and with genuine joy.

Foundation 92 sessions will focus at a beginners level to incorporate all abilities and experiences of yoga within the community.

Foundation 92 Health and Wellbeing Coordinator, Dan Clegg, said “We’re delighted to be launching this brand new programme, delivered in partnership with StreetGames and Yoginis. We believe that all young females in the community should be able to access the wellbeing benefits that yoga and mindfulness can provide. We hope this new programme will succeed in supporting many members of the community in Stretford”.
