It is currently the EFL’s annual Week of Action, and we’re delighted to announce that Salford City Football Club player, Jon Taylor, is now Foundation 92’s Inclusion Ambassador.
In his role as ambassador, Jon will be regularly visiting various diverse segments of the Salford community that Foundation 92 work with.
Jon said: “Since I signed for the club, I wanted to give as much value back as I could on the pitch but in other areas too. Foundation 92 is so important to the club’s owners and as an ambassador I can hopefully help with the incredible work that has already been achieved.
“It’s so important to connect with the community. I recently helped the Foundation give out food packs to families in Salford, and it was amazing to see the smiles on peoples’ faces when we engaged with them. We also gave out free tickets to an upcoming fixture whilst on the visit, and it gave me an unbelievable feeling when I saw them at the game, I saw how happy the families were to be watching us play, it made me very proud.
“I’m a firm believer that footballers should use their time wisely; I have utilised The PFA’s education offering and I have a passion in helping in the community, it means so much to me. I’d encourage players to find a passion away from football, if that is helping in the community too, then great.
“Football is for everyone and through this role I can hopefully encourage that. It makes me incredibly happy to have an effect on others and to help make people in the community smile. I’m really looking forward to getting out as much as I can and making an impact.
Head of Media & Partnerships at Foundation 92, Damon Traverse, said: “We’re really proud to have Jon as an Ambassador of Foundation 92. Jon is very engaged in the work that we do, and keen to get out into the community, this will greatly support the work that we do as part of The Premier League Fans Fund across Salford”.
