Foundation 92 supports families across Salford and Greater Manchester thanks to continued support from Islamic Relief UK.

Official charity of Salford City Football Club, Foundation 92, supports families in need through a variety of programmes supported by Islamic Relief UK.

The increasing cost of living is pushing families into poverty and Greater Manchester has seen a stark rise in families needing assistance.

Many people throughout Greater Manchester, have been hit hard by the cost-of-living crisis, including, low-income families, those suffering from domestic abuse, the homeless, asylum seekers and refugees who were already struggling to feed themselves and many prioritising eating or heating as they struggle to pay their bills.

In 2023, Foundation 92 partnered with Islamic Relief UK to support families in the local community through the donation of food packs. On the 3rdof October, Foundation 92 with the support of Islamic Relief, Salford City, Salford Foodbank and volunteers from JMW Solicitors, donated 200 food packs to families in the community to add to the additional 800 food packs the charity has gifted in the past 12 months across Salford and Greater Manchester.

Head of Foundation 92, Tom Hutton, said: We’re delighted to work with Islamic Relief, who share our passion to support families in the community. The work that we do together makes a huge impact on families across Salford and Greater Manchester”.

Zia Salik, Islamic Relief UK deputy director said: “Families across the country are still bearing the brunt of the cost-of-living crisis. It’s therefore heartening to see community organisations like Foundation 92 step up and do what they can to help local residents who have been hit hard and teeter on the brink of poverty. With their help, Islamic Relief UK is working hard to alleviate the pressures facing vulnerable people in Salford.”
