This week, Salford City FC club captain Elliot Watt received the PFA Community Champion award for his outstanding work in the community, supporting Foundation 92’s programmes.
Throughout the season Elliot has supported the community through school visits, and a present drop as part of the Foundation 92 December to Remember Christmas campaign.
Elliot has been an inspiration to members of the community during every visit throughout the season.
Elliot said: “I’m very honoured. It’s the first season where I’ve done as much work in the community, this club is massive on community support. I’ve tried to throw myself in the deep end with it and do as much as I possibly could.
“One of the best days out in the community was supporting Foundation 92’s December to Remember campaign, delivering presents across the community. That was a really great day. I’m really honoured to receive this award so thank you.”
Elliot received the award at the club’s Football and Photography Exhibition for Elm’s Bank School on Tuesday ahead of todays’ Autism Awareness Match Day in celebration of World Autism Awareness Day on Tuesday the 2nd of April.
