This week Foundation 92 is taking Manchester Maccabi Thunder to represent the Foundation at the Special Champions League taking place in Lisbon, Portugal with the support of the Friendship Circle.
The tournament is being Hosted by the European Football Development Network (EFDN) and Benfica SL’s charity Foundation.
A group of pan-disability adults with mixed disabilities are traveling to compete in the tournament with 11 different teams from all over Europe including Everton, Juventus, Ajax and Werder Bremen. The tournament will promote fair play, tolerance, mutual respect and access to football for all.
Foundation 92 Inclusion Coordinator, Jordan Kay, said “The tournament will provide opportunities for individuals to participate in a prestigious tournament who may never have the chance to do something like this. We’re really proud to be working with the EFDN to provide the opportunity of a lifetime for these players.”
The unique cultural and sporting experience will also allow participants to explore Lisbon’s rich culture and history, enriching the value of the trip to its participants.
