Take part in activities pre-match, cheer on their participants at half-time, have the chance to win prizes & donate to fantastic causes.
Foundation 92 supports the wider community, offering help to those living with additional needs and disabilities, those tackling homelessness and young people who have or may be at risk of committing offences, among other groups.
On Saturday we celebrate and raise awareness of this work and ask each supporter to donate just £1 on the day to help continue to fund the life changing work the charity does. We are providing card readers and buckets in spaces around the ground for people to be able to donate.
Last year the charity used innovative programmes that specialise in Health and Wellbeing, Education and Employability skills, Community Inclusion and Youth Outreach to support 13,129 individuals, working closely with partners across Salford and Greater Manchester.
The game against Gillingham Football Club this Saturday has been designated as this season’s Foundation 92 Matchday, the club’s official charitable arm, so the organisation is aiming to take the opportunity to highlight the extent of the huge amount of work that goes on in the community.
On the day there will be a range of activities delivered by Foundation 92 staff in Bucks Bar & surrounding areas where you can meet the team & find out more about the great work they do. Make sure to complete the activity cards available and be in with a chance of winning a signed Salford City FC shirt. At half-time a selection of Foundation 92 participants will take part in a parade around the pitch.
Dale Mulgrew, Fundraising Manager at Foundation 92 explained.
“The ‘bring a pound to the ground’ initiative has proven to be very successful at a number of football clubs and has helped many club charities to fulfil some excellent programmes thanks to the support of their fans.”
“Our focus is on our education and health programmes for this year’s Foundation 92 fixture and hopefully the money raised will help us to expand the range of people we can support in these areas to make an even bigger impact.
“With a big crowd expected to come and enjoy this fixture, we hope that our fans will be able to support our appeal and help to ensure that those attending our weekly sessions and programmes can go on to experience the thrill of representing Salford City and to do so with pride.”
