ccFoundation 92 is thrilled to announce that Talk About It Mate has been selected as our very first Charity of the Month for February 2026!
Talk About It Mate is a Salford-based social enterprise dedicated to reshaping how mental health is talked about and supported in our community. Through peer-led support groups, creative wellbeing activities, and inclusive community spaces, they encourage connection, openness, and personal growth for people of all backgrounds. Their work is grounded in the belief that mental health should be treated with the same importance as physical health, and that everyone deserves a welcoming, non-judgmental space to be heard.
Founded on the powerful idea that people helping people makes real change possible, Talk About It Mate offers regular peer support sessions in Salford, including walks, men’s groups, and community gatherings where individuals can share experiences and support one another. Activities such as these not only create meaningful connections but also help reduce the stigma around mental health challenges.
Foundation 92 is proud to support their vital work. As Charity of the Month, Talk About It Mate will receive a Foundation 92 merchandise pack, 20 tickets to a Salford City FC game, a donation of Kellogg’s cereal to support their beneficiaries, and recognition on our social media channels, including dedicated announcement and feature posts.
This week we hosted a special presentation and photo opportunity at the Peninsula Stadium to celebrate Talk About It Mate and publicly acknowledge the incredible contribution they make to mental wellbeing in our region.
Mike Richard, CEO of Talk About It Mate said: “Being selected as Foundation 92’s Charity of the Month means a huge amount to us. Men can talk, and this recognition helps shine a light on the spaces and places where they already do. As Salford Community Group of the Year, Talk About It Mate works on the ground with men across Salford, creating consistent, welcoming spaces for connection, openness and peer support. This support helps make those everyday conversations visible and reminds more men that they’re not on their own.”
Join us in celebrating Talk About It Mate’s achievement and learn more about their inspiring work, together we’re helping build stronger, healthier, and more connected communities.
