For the past month Foundation 92 staff supported refugees across Greater Manchester to provide bespoke sports activities and healthy lifestyle workshops.
Foundation staff delivered sessions that consisted of; physical activity, team games, problem solving exercises, leadership skill development, positive relationship building, alongside health and wellbeing advice, guidance, and support.
Operations and Development Manager at Foundation 92, Matt Agnew, said “We’re proud to support and add value to the current provision in place for local refugees who require help and guidance on adapting to life in Greater Manchester. As a Foundation, we believe in a community for all, and to have supported refugees via our inclusive offer, to help create a safe place and for participants to feel part of something, has been very important to us.”
Strategic and Partnership Lead at Manchester City of Sanctuary, Liz Hibberd, said “We were very happy to work with Foundation 92 to provide opportunities for young people to engage in meaningful activities that promote positive mental health and wellbeing, as well as developing self-confidence.
