Foundation 92 launches Salford Warm & Welcoming Space programme in partnership with Clarion Futures.

Running out of Sutton Community Centre, Foundation 92 will be providing daily drop-in sessions from 22nd of January.

The project is funded by Clarion Futures, the charitable foundation of Clarion Housing Group which owns and manages hundreds of homes locally. Building on the success of its warm spaces programme which launched in November 2022, Clarion Futures is awarding further funding to partners to deliver initiatives like this which will support local residents.

These sessions are FREE to access and are aimed at families in the local community. Sessions will include fun activities for attendees such as multi-sports and arts & crafts, employment and training support, debt management and energy-saving advice, and refreshments.

Foundation 92 and Clarion Futures have developed this programme to support those most in need this winter during the cost-of-living crisis. The initiative is designed to provide a warm and safe environment for individuals whilst also providing a chance to get to know their community.

Head of Foundation 92, Tom Hutton, said: “Foundation 92 is committed to supporting the holistic wellbeing of its community. Recognising the need to bring people together in a safe and welcoming environment, we are delighted to be launching a number of free to access services which will help local residents keep warm and make social connections. Thanks to Clarion Futures for helping us to support those most in need.”

Matt Parsonage, Head of Communities at Clarion Futures, said: “As the cost of living crisis and cold temperatures continue to bite, we know people are still struggling and that’s why initiatives like this one being delivered by Foundation 92 are so important. Opening the doors to the community centre and running these sessions will not only help people to keep warm but will also provide opportunities to meet new people and reduce loneliness and isolation.

We’re delighted to be supporting the programme and look forward to continuing our work with Foundation 92 within the community.”

Keep your eyes peeled for further development as we help people lead healthy and positive lifestyles as we look to #KeepManchesterWarm this winter.
