Foundation 92 launches Community Choir!

The Foundation 92 Community Choir, aims to bring the local community together, raising their voice alongside promoting and strengthening the wellbeing of local residents.

The goal of this programme is to bring joy to members of the community and to create a connection through music. 

Tom Hutton, Head of Foundation 92, said “We do believe music can make an incredible impact to people lives; it can make us healthier and happier, reduce stress, and connect people across cultures, and Foundation 92 is setting up this community choir as another strand of the charity to do just that. We plan to organise performances, and these will help to raise awareness of Foundation 92, alongside fundraising for the future sustainability of the Charity”. 

Rehearsal will be held on Wednesday evenings, 7:00pm – 8:00pm at Community Hub, Doveridge Gardens, Salford, M6 7LY and led by fantastic and experienced Music Director Mr. Dan McDwyer. 

Dan is an RNCM graduate and established Musical Director, arranger and vocal coach, currently running several choirs across the North West. Dan is passionate about Manchester, proudly working as a musical Director for many of Manchester’s most prestigious events, creating safe spaces for anyone to use their voice in a positive way, championing singing for mental health and well-being. Dan has worked and appeared on several TV shows including Children in Need, One Love Manchester, Songs of Praise and the prestigious Royal Variety Performance alongside working with artists including; Ariana Grande, Emeli Sandè, The Script, Katherine Jenkins, Lulu, Jane McDonald, Kerry Ellis and many more.

Dan McDwyer, said “I am thrilled and honoured to be joining the Foundation 92 Community Choir, promoting and supporting healthy singing communities across Salford and Greater Manchester. I’m looking forward to our first performance this Summer!” 

Marco Wong, Fundraising and Partnership Manager at Foundation 92 said “If you love singing, then join the Foundation 92 Community Choir! There are no auditions; you don’t need previous experience or the ability to read music; you just need to have a desire to sing with other people. And have fun. We will teach you the rest”.
