Foundation 92 is partnering with Cif on a mission to reboot the beautiful game for thousands of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, and inspire on-pitch confidence through the restoration of used football boots.
Teaming up with England and Chelsea footballer Cole Palmer, we’re aiming to provide ‘free kicks’ to budding young players in Salford, helping them to feel pitch-ready.
After conducting research with UK-wide sports charity Sported, Cif found that 97% of their community sports groups believe that their young players feel more confident playing sports when they have the right kit. However, a staggering 98% of group leaders agreed that the cost of new football boots is a cost-of-living challenge for their families.
Something needs to change. Using the power of our community, we will be collecting even the dirtiest of boots to be cleaned and re-distributed across the UK using Cif, ready for young football players ahead of the 2024/25 footy season.
“We’ve witnessed many young people turning up to our sessions without the right kit. Being a part of Cif Re-Kicks will play a key role in helping to provide boots to young people in Salford so they can kick-about with confidence.”
To provide more opportunities for young players to get on the pitch, we need your help -our fans.
Please join us in our mission and donate your used football boots to the Peninsula Stadium on entry to Salford City FC’s final game of the season on the 27th of April at 3pm.
