Earlier this week, Salford City FC academy scholars were honoured to welcome Dave Coussons, a local army veteran who has recently played a key role in reinstating the Royal British Legion branch in Salford.
During his visit, Dave spoke to the young players about the important work of the Royal British Legion, an organisation that provides lifelong support to members and veterans of the British Armed Forces and their families. He shared his personal journey, his reasons for getting involved, and the vital impact the Legion continues to have within local communities.
Dave also reflected on the meaning of Remembrance Sunday, reminding the scholars of the significance of honouring those who have served and sacrificed for their country. His words encouraged the group to think about the importance of respect, remembrance, and community, values that align closely with those promoted through Foundation 92’s work.
Foundation 92 would like to extend its thanks to Dave Coussons for taking the time to visit and share his experiences, helping to inspire and educate the next generation on the importance of remembrance and service.
