Last week, Foundation 92 was delighted to welcome Salford City FC players Dan Udoh and Matt Butcher to our Dementia Friendly Activity Group, delivered in partnership with Age UK Salford.
The Dementia Friendly Activity Group is a weekly session designed to create a safe, supportive space for individuals living with dementia and their carers. Activities focus on promoting physical activity, mental stimulation, and social inclusion, helping participants stay active and connected within their community.
As part of the EFL Week of Action, Dan and Matt took time out of their busy schedules to join participants for an afternoon filled with conversation, laughter, and light-hearted competition. The players got involved in several activities, including a friendly game of pool and a series of chair-based games designed to support wellbeing, movement, and social connection.
The visit provided a fantastic opportunity for participants to engage with the players, share stories, and enjoy some memorable moments together. Initiatives like this highlight the importance of community connection and demonstrate how football can be a powerful tool to bring people together across generations.
Foundation 92 would like to extend a huge thank you to Dan, Matt, and Salford City FC for their continued support, and to Age UK Salford for their ongoing partnership in delivering meaningful, inclusive programmes that make a difference in people’s lives.
