JD Achieve Programme: Empowering Young People in Bury

A FREE opportunity for Year 10 and Year 11 students in partnership with Foundation 92 and the JD Foundation.

About Foundation 92:

Founded by the Class of 92’, Foundation 92 is the official charity of Salford City Football Club and is an independent registered charity that focuses on supporting communities to improve their lives through education and sport.

About JD Achieve:

The JD Achieve programme is a transformative initiative designed to support young people in Years 10 and 11 who are at risk of leaving the education system without a clear destination. Through a unique partnership between Foundation 92 and the JD Foundation, we are offering bespoke mentoring, guidance and support to help young people realise and achieve their potential.

The programme includes:

  • In school mentoring: Tailored support for each student, delivered within their school environment to ensure accessibility and consistency.
  • Hybrid education offer: A mix of both theoretical and practical educational delivery to provide a well-rounded learning experience.
  • Visit to JD HQ/Distribution Centre: Students will have the opportunity to explore the world of work through a visit to JD’s headquarters and distribution centre. This will showcase apprenticeship opportunities and potential career destinations for the future.
  • On site HR support: Practical support with interview techniques and career development, ensuring students are work-ready for future opportunities.
  • Participation in the JD Achieve Enterprise Challenge: Students will engage in an exciting enterprise challenge, judged by Foundation 92 founders and JD executives, providing real-world experience and a platform to showcase their skills.
